Cadre Holdings, Inc. supplies equipment that protects people working in dangerous situations, including body armor, police duty gear and Med-Eng bomb-disposal suits and equipment. Most revenue comes from products it manufactures, sold directly to agencies or through distributors. Its own distribution business also sells third-party equipment, letting law enforcement agencies buy multiple supplies from one source. U.S. state and local agencies are its largest sales channel, but no single customer dominates revenue.
Its nuclear businesses, including Alpha Safety and Zircaloy, sell equipment and services to commercial and government customers that need to handle, transport and store nuclear materials. These offerings include containment equipment, remote-handling systems and onsite support for nuclear power, waste management and other nuclear activities.
Most product sales are tied to customary or required replacement cycles, while consumables generate repeat purchases as supplies run out. Orders also depend on government budgets and winning public contracts. Export licenses and government approvals restrict international sales and government work, and nuclear operations must meet government safety requirements.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Cadre's results hinge on agency protective-equipment replacement cycles and nuclear safety demand; key direct rivals outside this list are Point Blank Enterprises, Avon Protection Systems and Armor Express.
MSA and Cadre both depend on agency equipment budgets and safety requirements: MSA sells protective equipment to fire services, while Cadre supplies law enforcement and other first responders. Watch MSA's fire-service sales for a read on the spending environment facing Cadre's public-safety customers.
Safe Pro Group Inc. competes with Cadre in protective equipment: its Safe-Pro USA business makes ballistic protection and equipment that protects bomb-disposal personnel, overlapping Cadre's body armor and bomb-safety offerings.
Lakeland Industries Inc and Cadre both depend on public-safety equipment spending: Lakeland sells protective clothing to firefighters, while Cadre supplies protective equipment to law enforcement and other first responders. Lakeland's firefighter apparel sales offer a view of that shared spending environment, rather than demand for Cadre's body armor itself.
Mine Safety Incorporated earningsMSA
MSA Safety’s report will show whether fire departments are buying protective equipment steadily, a read on the public-safety spending environment Cadre Holdings also sells into.
Watch MSA Safety’s sales to fire services. Steady sales would suggest fire departments are maintaining equipment purchases, a supportive sign for the public-safety spending environment shared by Cadre’s law-enforcement and other first-responder customers. Weaker sales would raise the possibility of budget pressure for those customers too, but would not prove that demand for Cadre’s own products has changed.
Cadre Holdings, Inc. earningsThis company
Cadre Holdings’ report will show whether agency purchases of its own safety products and the goods it distributes are both supporting growth.
Compare sales and gross margin in Cadre’s Product and Distribution segments. Product sales growth with a steady or rising gross margin would show that demand for its own products and pricing relative to material costs are supporting growth; stable Distribution sales and margin would show that agency purchasing is not limited to Cadre-made goods. If Product sales or margin weaken, especially alongside continued softness in Distribution, both its manufacturing business and its agency-supply business are under pressure.
Safe Pro Group Inc. earningsSPAI
Safe Pro Group’s report will show whether buyers are purchasing ballistic protection and bomb-disposal equipment, categories that overlap with Cadre Holdings’ products.
Watch Safe Pro Group’s sales of ballistic protection and bomb-disposal equipment. Stronger sales would show buyers are purchasing in product categories that overlap with Cadre’s; weaker sales would point to softness in demand or sales execution in those categories. Safe Pro’s results alone cannot show how many orders Cadre wins.
