Company

Company overview

Park Ha Biological Technology offers PARK HA skincare products, with a focus on sensitive and problematic skin, through directly operated and franchise stores in China. Franchisees pay for the right to use the brand and operate in specified areas, along with store setup, marketing and staff-training support. These fees generate most of the company’s revenue. It also sells products to franchisees for resale and directly to consumers. Stores offer complimentary beauty demonstrations and after-sales services rather than charging separately for them.

The business depends on attracting franchisees and keeping them in the network. Franchisees choose when and how much product to order, so joining the network does not guarantee continuing product purchases. A few large customers supply a significant share of revenue. Third-party manufacturers supply both the products and their formulas, which Park Ha does not own, and must source ingredients from designated suppliers, leaving it dependent on a limited supplier base.

Its products are cosmetics, not medical-grade products, and must meet Chinese product-safety and filing requirements. The Cayman Islands parent conducts business through Chinese subsidiaries and relies principally on their distributions for cash. Those payments are limited by distributable profits, mandatory reserves and foreign-exchange procedures.

Park Ha’s results hinge chiefly on retaining and recruiting skincare franchisees in China, where major competitors Fanwenhua, DR PLANT and Beauty Farm are absent from this list.

  • Meiwu competes with Park Ha for skincare buyers through offline product sales, overlapping Park Ha’s stores that sell skincare with product demonstrations and complimentary beauty services. Watch Meiwu’s revenue from offline functional skincare sales, rather than training services, for a read on the business that overlaps Park Ha.
