Broadwind’s largest business makes steel towers that support wind turbines and adapters used when upgrading existing turbines, primarily for turbine manufacturers. It generally builds to order. Customers pay for the finished structures; when they arrange steel purchases, Broadwind buys the material on their negotiated terms and charges them the material cost plus a manufacturing margin. Wind-related sales provide most of its revenue.
Beyond towers, Broadwind makes custom gears, gearboxes and precision-machined parts for equipment manufacturers and replacement applications, and earns fees from gearbox repair and heat treatment. It also manages parts inventories, groups components into installation kits and assembles them, mainly for suppliers of natural-gas turbines and their replacement and upgrade packages.
Revenue depends heavily on a small customer base, with GE Vernova accounting for most sales. Changes in customers’ order volumes and production schedules affect how fully Broadwind uses its factories. Wind demand also depends partly on government support for wind projects. Broadwind can turn tax credits for eligible U.S.-made wind components into cash, but those credits end for components produced and sold after 2027.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Broadwind hinges on orders from a few turbine customers and U.S. wind incentives, while C.S. Wind adds wind-tower competition beyond this list.
GE Vernova buys Broadwind products for its power-generation businesses, so changes in its purchasing can materially affect Broadwind: it accounted for more than 10% of Broadwind’s revenue in both 2025 and 2024. Watch orders from its power-generation businesses, rather than its broader electricity-equipment and services results.
Arcosa competes with Broadwind to sell steel wind towers to turbine manufacturers and is its largest North American-based wind-tower rival. Arcosa’s wind-tower business is the part to watch for competitive pressure on Broadwind, rather than its construction materials or transportation products.
DPC Holdings PLC and Broadwind both depend on demand for new gas turbines and replacement parts: DPC sells blades and vanes to turbine makers, while Broadwind supplies gearing, components and assembly services. Watch DPC’s gas-turbine sales to manufacturers and the aftermarket for clues to demand in Broadwind’s gas-turbine businesses.
GE Vernova Inc. earningsGEV
GE Vernova’s report will show whether its power-generation businesses are sustaining purchases from Broadwind, a customer that accounts for more than a tenth of Broadwind’s revenue.
Focus on orders or demand for turbine-related equipment in GE Vernova’s power-generation businesses, not its overall electricity-equipment and services results. Stronger purchasing would point to support for demand in Broadwind’s power-generation business; weaker purchasing would put pressure on sales to this important customer.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
Broadwind’s Fed-rate exposure runs through its variable-rate 2022 Credit Facility: the decision tracks the cost of short-term borrowing, which can change what Broadwind pays to service its debt.

If it comes in above expectations
If the policy rate is higher than expected, interest expense on Broadwind’s variable-rate debt may rise, leaving less cash for equipment, operations and growth.
If it comes in below expectations
If the policy rate is lower than expected, interest expense on Broadwind’s variable-rate debt may ease, leaving more cash available for equipment, operations and growth.
Arcosa, Inc. earningsACA
Arcosa’s report will show how demand and competition in steel wind towers are changing, since it sells towers to the same turbine manufacturers as Broadwind.
Watch sales and profit performance in Arcosa’s wind-tower business, not its construction materials or transportation products. Stronger tower sales with firm profits would point to healthy demand from shared customers; weaker sales or pressured profits could signal softer demand or tougher competition, making Broadwind’s tower orders harder to win.
DPC Holdings PLC earningsDPC
DPC Holdings PLC’s report will show demand for gas-turbine blades and vanes from manufacturers and the aftermarket, offering a read on the market Broadwind serves with gearing, components and assembly.
Separate DPC’s sales to turbine makers from its aftermarket sales. Stronger sales to makers would point to demand for new equipment, supporting Broadwind’s gas-turbine components and assembly work; stronger aftermarket sales would show support from replacement demand. Weakness in both would mean less demand support for Broadwind’s gas-turbine business from this shared market.
Broadwind, Inc. earningsThis company
Broadwind’s report will show whether wind-tower and gas-turbine work is improving factory utilization and margins, and whether its Gearing business is recovering.
Compare sales with operating margins in each segment, especially Gearing shipments and gas-turbine projects in Industrial Solutions. Higher sales alongside better margins would show that more work is moving through Broadwind’s factories profitably; higher sales without margin improvement would point to mix, fixed costs or production inefficiencies still eating into the gains. The conclusion is whether Broadwind can turn orders into operating profit.
