Company

Company overview

Brilliant Earth Group earns most of its sales from U.S. consumers buying diamonds, gemstones and fine jewelry. Its Design Your Own rings account for a significant share of revenue: customers choose a setting, metal and natural or lab-grown diamond or gemstone, and jewelers make the ring to their specifications. Jewelry consultants help customers online and in showrooms, where shoppers can see display pieces and collect or return purchases.

Customers pay before receiving their orders, and Brilliant Earth typically collects payment before paying suppliers. Made-to-order production and access to diamonds it does not own help it keep inventory low rather than stocking every possible combination.

The business depends on attracting jewelry buyers and securing materials from a limited group of suppliers, mostly without long-term contracts. Its natural-diamond sourcing standards restrict which stones it can offer, while restrictions on Russian-origin diamond imports also constrain supply. Suppliers, outside jewelers and delivery carriers must work together to fulfill customer orders.

    Retail Sales MoM (Oct)

Brilliant Earth sells engagement rings, gemstones and fine jewelry, so retail sales track how much consumers are spending; stronger spending can bring more orders and revenue, while weaker spending can mean fewer purchases.
