Company

Company overview

Retailers and financial institutions pay Brink’s to transport, process and store their cash securely, and these cash and valuables services provide most of its revenue. Brink’s Global Services also transports high-value goods such as jewelry and precious metals, handling customs clearance and secure storage. Customers generally pay agreed fees for each service performed, with monthly billing; most contracts do not guarantee how much service customers will use.

Brink’s also helps merchants manage cash receipts through devices, software and services such as Brink’s Complete and CompuSafe, giving them access to cash without visiting a bank. Its ATM Managed Services let financial institutions, retailers and independent ATM owners outsource daily ATM operations, including planning cash needs, monitoring machines and processing transactions. These technology-enabled businesses provide a smaller share of revenue, typically through recurring fees under multi-year contracts.

Demand depends on customers’ business volumes and continued use of cash; a shift toward non-cash payments can reduce the need for cash services. Demand for precious metals and luxury goods also affects valuables handling. Brink’s must meet money-services and anti-money-laundering requirements where applicable and obtain security permits. Some countries restrict foreign companies from providing certain security services.
