Company

Company overview

Aspire Biopharma Holdings, Inc., since renamed Aspire-Lakewood Holdings, Inc., is developing high-dose aspirin that dissolves under the tongue for absorption into the bloodstream. It aims to use this approach for suspected heart attacks and, potentially, other cardiovascular uses. The aspirin remains in clinical development: the company plans another trial before seeking U.S. regulatory approval and cannot yet sell it as an approved medicine.

Its current product-sales business is caffeine supplements, marketed under the Buzz Bomb name. Customers pay for these products, and nutraceuticals account for all reported product-sales revenue. Aspire also considers licensing its drug technology for payments and royalties, but has no licensing or collaboration agreements in place.

Aspire depends on outside manufacturers rather than its own production facilities. Microsize is preparing aspirin for the next clinical trials, while Supranaturals is contracted to manufacture Buzz Bomb. Financing, rather than product sales, has supplied most of its cash. Continuing drug development therefore depends on raising more capital, obtaining usable clinical results and securing regulatory approval.
