AquaBounty Technologies, Inc. no longer operates salmon farms or conducts research and development. It sold its Indiana farm and Canadian operations, including the intellectual property, trademarks and patents for its genetically engineered Atlantic salmon. Its main remaining asset is the Ohio Farm Project: the farm site and remaining equipment.
Cash now comes from asset buyers and lenders, and the company plans further asset sales or debt and equity financing to fund working capital and its evolving strategy. Its ability to stay in business depends on obtaining additional capital, which is not assured. It must also maintain permits covering the Ohio project's water systems, construction and operation; losing them could restrict options for the property.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
AquaBounty’s results now hinge on whether it can sell its remaining Ohio Farm Project and on its remaining costs and obligations, rather than salmon production.
AquaBounty Technologies, Inc. earningsThis company
AquaBounty no longer operates farms and has little cash, so this report will show whether its corporate costs and Ohio Farm Project can be funded while it pursues a sale or other strategic option.
Compare cash used in operations with cash on hand and proceeds from financing or asset sales, then look for a credible sale or other outcome for the Ohio Farm Project. Slower cash use, funding or sale proceeds that cover costs, and a path for the project would mean more room to keep operating; continued cash depletion without replacement funding or a viable asset outcome would make both operations and realizing the farm's value harder.
