Amylyx Pharmaceuticals focuses on developing treatments for endocrine conditions and neurodegenerative diseases. Its main programs are avexitide for dangerously low blood sugar after weight-loss surgery, called post-bariatric hypoglycemia, and AMX0035 for Wolfram syndrome. Avexitide is in Phase 3 clinical development; AMX0035 is being studied for uses other than ALS.
The company previously earned revenue selling its ALS medicine as RELYVRIO in the United States and ALBRIOZA in Canada. It withdrew both products after the Phase 3 PHOENIX trial failed to meet its primary and secondary endpoints, and no longer expects revenue from them. Future drug sales require regulatory approval and would depend on physicians prescribing the treatments and patients, health insurers or government payors paying for them.
Amylyx funds development with its existing cash and has historically raised money through stock offerings and convertible notes. Continuing its programs depends on having enough funding to complete trials and pursue approval; it may also seek collaborators to help develop and commercialize its medicines.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Vogenx Inc is a direct rival to Amylyx’s avexitide: its investigational drug mizagliflozin targets the same patients with low blood sugar after bariatric surgery. Watch mizagliflozin’s clinical progress for changes in the competition avexitide faces.
Rezolute, Inc. presents potential competition for Amylyx’s low-blood-sugar therapies through ersodetug, which it is developing for patients whose hypoglycemia is associated with excess insulin. Its development across genetic and acquired forms of hyperinsulinism is the program to watch.
Coya Therapeutics, Inc. is developing COYA 302 for the same ALS patients Amylyx seeks to treat with AMX0114. Coya remains responsible for specified clinical development work, making COYA 302’s progress the relevant news for Amylyx holders.
NeuroSense Therapeutics Ltd.’s lead drug candidate PrimeC targets ALS, the same disease Amylyx is addressing with AMX0114. Watch its planned pivotal Phase 3 study of PrimeC, an extended-release pill combining ciprofloxacin and celecoxib.
Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. already has a marketed ALS medicine, QALSODY, while Amylyx’s AMX0114 is still in development for that disease. Biogen sells QALSODY worldwide, so news about that medicine is more relevant to this rivalry than Ionis’s overall revenue.
Biogen Inc. already sells QALSODY for ALS worldwide, placing an established medicine alongside Amylyx’s investigational AMX0114. Watch QALSODY specifically rather than Biogen’s broader sales, which include substantial contributions from TYSABRI and SPINRAZA.
NewcelX Ltd. targets the same ALS disease as Amylyx’s AMX0114, but its AstroRx program takes a different route using human astrocytes derived from stem cells. AstroRx’s clinical progress is the relevant signal; NewcelX has not yet generated revenue from its development-stage candidates.
Biogen Inc. earningsBIIB
Biogen's report can show whether QALSODY is reaching more people with ALS, giving readers a focused read on the established treatment alongside Amylyx's investigational AMX0114.
Focus on any QALSODY-specific sales or access commentary, not Biogen's overall results as a substitute. Wider sales or access would show that an established ALS treatment is reaching more patients, raising the bar for doctors and patients to adopt AMX0114 if it is approved; limited progress would mean less evidence of growing reach for QALSODY, not proof of demand for AMX0114.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
Amylyx’s decision on short-term borrowing rates matters because it can change interest earned as its cash investments reprice, as well as the cost of any new borrowing.

If it comes in above expectations
If rates rise more than expected, Amylyx may earn more interest as its cash investments reprice, though any new borrowing would cost more.
If it comes in below expectations
If rates rise less than expected or fall, Amylyx may earn less interest as its cash investments reprice, while any new borrowing could cost less.
Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. earningsThis company
Amylyx has no approved products for sale, so this report shows whether it can advance avexitide while keeping cash use in check.
Read research and development spending alongside cash used in operations, and check what Amylyx says about avexitide and its other programs. Trial progress with cash use still in check would show that liquidity is funding development while leaving room for other programs; faster cash use without matching progress would mean the money is running down sooner and put more pressure on future development and financing.
Vogenx Inc earningsVOGX
Vogenx's report can show whether mizagliflozin is advancing toward the same post-bariatric-surgery patients Amylyx hopes to treat with avexitide.
Look for an update on mizagliflozin's clinical development, especially whether it is advancing for people with low blood sugar after bariatric surgery. Progress would mean another drug for the same patients is moving forward and could compete with avexitide for treatment opportunities; a delay or setback would ease the near-term pressure from this direct rival, but would not prove avexitide will succeed.
