Aldeyra Therapeutics is developing reproxalap for dry eye disease and allergic conjunctivitis, alongside other experimental treatments for eye and immune-mediated diseases. It has no approved products and earns no revenue from drug sales; it cannot sell its candidates before regulatory approval. Share sales and borrowing have provided most of its funding, and it needs additional capital to complete development and prepare for commercialization.
AbbVie has paid Aldeyra for an exclusive option to enter a reproxalap collaboration, but had not exercised it as of February 2026. If the companies enter the agreement, AbbVie would pay upfront and milestone payments, share U.S. commercialization profits and losses with Aldeyra, and pay royalties on sales outside the United States. This planned income path depends on approval and AbbVie choosing to proceed. Without that collaboration, Aldeyra would remain responsible for funding reproxalap development and commercialization, either alone or with another partner.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Aldeyra’s prospects hinge on FDA approval of reproxalap, whether AbbVie takes up its option to commercialize the drug, and access to capital before product revenue begins.
AbbVie could fund Aldeyra’s reproxalap and help develop, manufacture and sell it if it takes up its licensing option and signs the collaboration agreement, paying $100 million upfront less prior payments, with potential milestone payments and shared U.S. profits and losses. The key news is whether AbbVie exercises within ten business days after any FDA approval of reproxalap for dry eye; as of February 27, 2026, it had not.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For Aldeyra, the Fed’s decision signals whether economy-wide interest rates are rising or falling, which can change interest paid on its Hercules debt and interest earned on its investments.
Expected4.0%Last release4.0%
If it comes in above expectations
If the decision points to higher rates, Aldeyra’s interest expense could rise if Prime Rate increases, while interest earned on its investments could also increase; the debt rate remains at its 11.10% floor unless the Prime-based rate is higher.
If it comes in below expectations
If the decision points to lower rates, Aldeyra could earn less interest on its investments, while its debt interest expense could fall only if Prime Rate declines enough for the Prime-based rate to be below the 11.10% floor.
ABBVIE INC. earningsABBV
AbbVie’s report will show how its business and finances are doing, but not whether it will exercise its option to collaborate on reproxalap.
Look for whether AbbVie’s overall business and cash generation remain strong. Strong results and ample resources would indicate it can support a collaboration, not that it will exercise the option; weaker results would make support for Aldeyra’s reproxalap less certain. The collaboration still depends on AbbVie exercising after approval and signing an agreement.
Aldeyra Therapeutics, Inc. earningsThis company
Aldeyra Therapeutics has no approved products generating sales, so this report will show whether its research spending and cash use remain manageable with the funds it has.
Read research and development expense alongside cash used in operations. Lower expense with cash use still under control would show Aldeyra is preserving funds while it awaits FDA review; higher expense or faster cash use would show that development and commercialization preparations are narrowing the company’s room to act.
