Company

Company overview

Acco Brands Corporation supplies products ranging from notebooks and planners to office equipment and gaming and computer accessories. Its brands include Five Star, Swingline, Kensington and PowerA. Retailers such as Amazon and office-product dealers buy its products for resale; the company also sells through its own websites and direct sales team.

The company makes some products itself but buys most from outside suppliers, primarily in Asia. It adapts products to regional preferences, with the Americas supplying most revenue and its International business serving markets including Europe and Australia.

A substantial share of sales comes from a small group of large customers, with Amazon the largest. These customers’ purchasing decisions, inventory levels and shelf space affect sales, while their demands on prices and terms affect what the company earns. Digital tools are reducing demand for many traditional paper-based products. Gaming accessories depend on continued licensing rights from console manufacturers and game publishers, and audio products depend partly on compatibility certifications from third-party communications platforms.
