Palantir sells software that helps governments and businesses analyze data and use artificial intelligence in their operations. Recent cloud-company growth showed customers buying computing capacity, but ServiceNow's slower contract-growth outlook left a separate question: will businesses keep paying for the applications themselves? Palantir offers another test, provided government business is separated from commercial demand and its results are not treated as proof of growth across all software vendors.[1]
Watch whether commercial contracts become revenue and operating cash, and how much extra spending is needed to deliver the software. Contracts, revenue and cash growing together would strengthen confidence in enterprise AI applications. Slower contracts or rapidly rising delivery costs would invite scrutiny of growth and profit expectations across comparable software stocks. Customers may also redirect spending from other technology vendors, so not every supplier benefits. Renewals and expanded customer purchases are the next test, rather than government awards or total contract value alone.[1]
